THE INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

  • WAFS/CDP, any version, installed on a computer with AMD dual-core processors

SYMPTOM

Some customers who are using WAFS/CDP on computers with AMD dual-core processors are experiencing timing issues, caused by the CPU's internal timers. After rebooting the CPU, the timers are in sync, but over time the timers drift apart again.

RESOLUTION

AMD has published a driver update for the CPU to synchronize the timers periodically. You can download a zip file of the driver update from the AMD web site at http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/DCO_1.1.4.zip. The driver update is called "AMD Dual-Core Optimizer."
